At St David’s Hospice we understand that caring for a patient with a terminal illness can be a rewarding but challenging task. The care that we provide extends to the patient’s loved ones and as a carer you will be involved in the patient’s care plan, every step of the way.
Why not take advantage of the number of complementary therapies available to you as a carer? Therapies include massage and aromatherapy and are provided by qualified therapists. They have been shown to improve anxiety levels, reduce stress and aid relaxation for the both the patient and carer.
- Visiting – There is no restriction on visiting times, but we do ask that visitors are considerate to other hospice users. All visitors need to sign in/out at reception, due to fire regulations and are to use the indicated entrance to gain entry out of hours or at weekends. We do not admit visitors into Day Care. The Day Care sessions allow for the carer to have some respite, while the patient enjoys a day at St David’s.
- Meals – Please be advised that perishable foods should no be brought into the Hospice as we cannot guarentee their storage. A full menu is provided for patients, as a well as a canteen for families.
- The Hospice is a No Smoking premises.
