A Future Gift for your local Hospice will go a long way…
Whatever your age, an up to date, professionally written will is incredibly important. It is the only way to ensure that your wishes are carried out after you die and that your family, friends and causes close to your heart are provided for in the way you intend.
Leaving a legacy to St David’s Hospice simply involves adding a short paragraph (clause) to your will. We would always suggest that you use a qualified solicitor to ensure that all legal procedures are followed. Don’t forget to update your will to reflect any changes in your life, such as marital status.
A common misconception is that a legacy has to be an enormous sum of money. This is not true. We understand that family and friends are likely to come first in your thoughts. But any legacy left in a will, no matter how small or large, is important to the charities you support.
DID YOU KNOW? Gifts to charities in your will are generally exempt from inheritance tax. If you leave a charitable gift it will be deducted from your estate before inheritance tax liability is calculated.
St David’s Hospice is a registered charity providing end of life care, free of charge, to adults from across Anglesey, Gwynedd and Conwy.
HOW YOUR FUTURE GIFT COULD HELP US
Legacies amount to a quarter of St David’s income. It currently costs £1.7 million a year to run the clinical services at the Hospice and over 75% of this is raised through the communities we serve.
Broken down, our clinical services cost over £4,500 per day to run. With your help, we can continue to help patients with a life-limiting illness for many years to come.
