St David’s Hospice is delighted to announce the Moonlight Memories Walk 2018.
Join us in celebrating the life, love and friendship of those we have lost at this special event.
The 10k walk will begin at Ysgol John Bright, Llandudno, from there we will walk together towards Craig-y-Don, into Penrhyn-side and along the prom under starlight.
The Hospice itself will be a stop off point where you be guided through the lit up memories garden to leave a special message to your loved ones. There will also be refreshments available and served by our lovely volunteers!
The walk will then continue back towards Ysgol John Bright where you will be greeted with a medal and goody bag.
The Moonlight Memories Walk is not about getting a personal best or being athletically fit.  In fact, the Hospice is welcoming ladies of all abilities to come together for this special evening.
All monies raised will support the invaluable care provided by St David’s Hospice, to patients with advanced illnesses in Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey.

Registration fee: £15.00 per person (aged 8 + only)

In order to make the night successful we need help from the community.  St David’s Hospice have a few volunteering opportunities that may be of interest to you or your family members.
St David’s Hospice is offering a free place at our 2018 Colour Run if you become a Route Marshal at the Moonlight Memories Walk 2018.
What is a Route Marshal?
Route marshals are the most visible and smiling volunteers along the route! They play an important role in directing and encouraging the walkers throughout the course. Not to mention being the eyes and ears on the course to assist event organisers. Route Marshals provide guidance to walkers with direction and ensuring they obey event rules and signage – and give them a cheer along the way! If you are taking part in the event, this is a perfect opportunity for the rest of the family to get involved.

Specific Tasks

  • Ensuring safety of walkers, volunteers and event staff
  • Provide event information to walkers and general public
  • Directing walkers through intersections, around corners and across roads. Please note you are not required to do any traffic management.
  • Inform St Johns Ambulance and event organisers of any emergencies.

You will not need any specific skills; just the ability to think clearly and act responsibly.  A general knowledge of road safety is a must together with an outgoing and encouraging personality to motivate the walkers!
If this is something you are interest in, please contact Daisy Magill on 01492 873664 or email. Alternatively fill in this form and Daisy will contact you to discuss further  or APPLY HERE

St David’s Hospice is a local charity, caring for local people, delivering specialist care to adult patients with advanced illnesses, or those in need of end of life care, and their families.
Every year, this touches the lives of over 1000 people within our local communities from across the counties of Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey.
We offer 24 hour care, 365 days a year providing a clinical service alongside emotional, physical and spiritual support. In our Day Care Unit we provide patient care, bereavement and counselling services, whilst our Inpatient Unit offers symptom control, respite and end of life care.
It costs over £3million each year to be able to deliver our care services free of charge – that’s over £8000 a day! The majority of this comes from voluntary and community fundraising, since the Hospice receives just 14% of its funding from the NHS.
