Damian Plant from Craig y Don is determined to keep quiet for twenty-four hours in a bid to raise funds for his local adult hospice.
The 41-year-old, who is accustomed to ‘making a noise’ whilst campaigning for disability issues, will remain silent from 9.30am on July 14th until 9.30am the following day.
Talking about how he will communicate throughout the silence, Damian said:
“I am looking forward to it. I am going to make a plan – perhaps I will get a bell to ring when I need my carer’s help and I’m going to watch boxsets throughout the challenge to keep me busy!”
“It costs over £4 million every year to continue the care and support at the Hospice. I feel got to raise money because the Hospice could close its doors without the support from people like me.”
Damian is very passionate about helping his local adult Hospice and frequently volunteers at fundraising events such as bucket collections.
James Wilde, Conwy Community Fundraiser said:
“As a local charity for local people, we could not deliver the care we provide without the dedication and the fantastic support of our local communities of Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey. We wish Damian all the best in his challenge. “
