Staff members from local branches of HSBC joined Retail Branch Manager Ashley Khan and Area Manager Dylan Roberts on a three-day walking challenge across North West Wales raising funds for St David’s Hospice.
In the first week of June, they walked the distance of their HSBC banking area. The walks followed a route from Porthmadog to Pwllheli, Llangefni to Bangor then Rhyl to Prestatyn. Through collecting sponsorship, the team raised £1368.41.
St David’s Hospice is a local charity providing hospice care to adult patients living with advanced illnesses in Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey. Each year the Hospice needs to raise £4 million to continue with care and services. The sponsorship raised by the HSBC staff will go directly towards patient care which is offered free of charge to the local community.
HSBC Retail Branch Manager Ashley Khan said:
“We chose to support St David’s Hospice following a meeting with Hospice Fundraiser Jane Jones. She explained what the Hospice is trying to achieve and the work that they do. We wanted to help in some way, especially as St David’s Hospice is our local hospice, which many staff members have been supported by in some manner.’
