Well done and thank you to Carol (Cali) Morley, our Gwynedd and Anglesey Area Retail Manager who took to the saddle for St David’s Hospice.

Getting on a bike didn’t feel natural to Cali, so when she signed up for a 10 mile cycle as part of the Billy Goat challenge she knew it would be a massive accomplishment to complete.

She cycled in memory of her father and dedicated the journey around the roads of Anglesey to his birthday.

Cali said:

“I found it so hard at times, even considered throwing the towel in a couple of times.

I know some people out there will be thinking that my ride is simply nothing, however just weeks before I could just about do a lap of the garden. I have problems with breathing and I felt so proud to completing it as it was a real struggle.

“I wanted to help raise much needed funds for the Hospice, the people who helped us give dad his last wishes to be at home in his final weeks/days/hours and minutes.

“My dad thought the world of the nurses from the Hospice whom made his life as comfortable as possible in his last few weeks with us. As heart breaking as it was to watch my dad slowly leave us, it was very comforting to see he got his wish to be at home and this would never have been possible without this wonderful team.

“The thought of my Dad kept me going. Thank you to everyone who sponsored me and also a huge thank you to Ffion for being by my side, encouraging me and helping me through my journey”

Thanks to the encouragement and support from friends and family, Cali rode over 16 miles in three days and raised £175 for St David’s Hospice.
