Throughout 2019, twenty-seven enthusiastic St David’s Hospice supporters took part in various Run Wales races raising £8,047.35 for end of life care in North West Wales.

Run Wales organise running events throughout the year, covering distances from 5k through to a 20-mile race and in 2019 it renamed its most popular event, The Conwy Half Marathon after St David’s Hospice, its official charity partner.

Run Wales Race Director, Chris Yorke said:

“It is an absolute privilege to work alongside St David’s Hospice and we’re so pleased to have helped to raise so much this year.

“It is essential that events like the Conwy Half marathon continue to flourish. They provide fantastic platforms for the general public to fundraise in aid of the Hospice. We look forward to working with them again this year”

Once again, Run Wales have generously donated 20 Castle Series places to the Hospice for those who wish to run to raise funds. This year the series now includes a new fourth location, with a new half marathon taking place in Caernarfon.

Those who would like to run for St David’s Hospice can sign up for individual events or complete all four. The Castle Series consists of Snowdonia Half (Sunday, May 17th), Caernarfon Half (Sunday, September 20th), Bangor Half (Sunday, October 4th) and Conwy Half (Sunday, November 15th).

St David’s Hospice Conwy Area Fundraiser, James Wilde said:

“Thank you to our supporters for showing so much dedication to St David’s Hospice through taking part in these events and for their fundraising.

“This year has seen a lot of new supporters take part in Run Wales races for the hospice and we’re very grateful for their support. We look forward to working in partnership again next year as part of the Four Castles series.

“The money raised will go a long way towards the care we offer patients here at St David’s Hospice.”
