The annual St David’s Hospice Clay Pigeon Shoot will be taking place on Wednesday 7th July 2021 at St David’s College, Llandudno in support of local end of life care.
The day, which starts at 8am with breakfast, consists of individual and team entries across ten challenging stands followed by a gourmet smokehouse BBQ with wine and an evening of live entertainment in a luxury marquee.
With the 2020 event postponed due to Covid, this year the Hospice Fundraising Team are determined that the event will go ahead, and they have worked hard to follow Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines. Joining the ‘We’re Good to Go’ scheme, the events team now has processes in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing. In addition, the Hospice has also set up a Covid Promise, which will ensure participants will receive a full refund should the event be cancelled or postponed to another date.
Hospice Events Co-ordinator, Rhian Jacobs looks forward to the clay pigeon shoot and says:
“This event gives you the chance to escape and enjoy a day of shooting and entertainment in the beautiful setting of St David’s College, Llandudno.
“Once again, the shoot itself is being run by Oliver Foulkes and his highly experienced team from the North Wales Simulated Game Shoot, and we are really excited to be welcoming everyone back for another year.”
“In response to our supporters, this year we are making Clay Pigeon Shooting accessible to all, offering an ‘Introduction to Shooting’ package, which includes a one-hour lesson plus an invite to the evening gourmet BBQ.”
St David’s Hospice is a local charity providing end of life care to adult patients across North West Wales. Rhian explains the need for fundraising:
“We really appreciate the support and generosity the shooting community have shown us year after year. This year we would love to see even more people join us, whilst also raising money for a fantastic cause.
“St David’s Hospice does not charge a penny for their care services and needs to raise over £5million each year to be there for every patient and their family that needs its care. If it wasn’t for everyone’s support at our fundraising events, the Hospice would not exist.”
The evening entertainment will be headlined by Artist and live performance Painter Dave Sharp, who will create amazing artwork live in front of the audience, plus there will be fantastic prizes to be won at the auction and raffle.
