An explosion of colours will greet runners taking part in a new charity event in Coed Brenin. St David’s Hospice is getting ready to launch its first Colour Run in Gwynedd on Sunday 8th September.

Keri McKie, St David’s Hospice Area Fundraiser for Gwynedd, said:

“We’re so excited! This will be unlike any other 5K you have completed before – everyone starts out in white and along the way gets covered from head to toe in colour.

“The trail 5km run, which is classed as moderate, climb-ups onto and contours round the Cefndeuddwr ridge, where you’ll meet the Sarn Helen, an ancient Roman road, before descending back to the visitor centre. There will also be a 1km fun run for all abilities and ages to take part.

“It is an un-timed race in which will see hundreds of participants run to the finish line all having fun whilst raising money for a wonderful local charity.”

“The routes will be lined with colour stations armed and ready for the participants to pass through and be showered with powder paints. The paint is 100% natural and eco-friendly.”

Participants will be encouraged to get messy and have fun, making it the perfect event for all the family.

Entry fee is £15 per adult £10 per child (8 -15years) for the 5km run (starts 11 am) and £5 entry (on the day only from 9.30am) for the 1km fun run (under 8 are free). All participants will receive a finisher’s medal.
