Throughout the summer season, a local Llandudno choir has entertained thousands at their weekly concerts and has raised thousands for charity.
Every Monday evening, between the months of May and September, the Harmony Singers have performed at the St John’s Methodist Church on Mostyn Street, Llandudno. Full of enthusiasm, the members sing their hearts out entertaining the tourists and locals with a varied repertoire of songs.
All proceeds from the concerts are donated to local and national charities. Since starting the concerts over 10 years ago the Harmony Singers have now donated over £50,000. At the last concert of the 2019 season, which raised £5000 in total, St David’s Hospice was presented with a cheque for £500.
Community Fundraiser Adrian Owen, who attended the presentation said:
“St David’s Hospice is extremely grateful to have received the kind donation from the Harmony Singers. They are a talented group of singers and I would like to give a heartfelt thanks to each and every one of the members for all their efforts over the year”
St David’s Hospice is a local charity providing hospice care to adult patients across Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey. Each year the Hospice needs to raise £4 million. With help from local community groups such as the Harmony Singers, the Hospice can provide free, high-quality, specialist palliative care to patients living with advanced illnesses, their families and carers.
