Sue McDonnell, 26 from Llandudno shaved off her long locks to raise funds for her local hospice.

The sponsored head shave was held in memory of Sue’s Auntie Christine Williams, who sadly passed away at St David’s Hospice in 2017.

Sue, who works as a Housekeeper, praised the care her Auntie received from the charity and said:

“I will always be grateful to the Hospice for looking after my auntie and I will always do my best to repay them for their care and love they give to other people.

“She was only cared for a short amount of time, but I will forever be grateful for them to make her feel comfortable in her final days.

“I would like the money to go to whatever St David’s Hospice need it. From a simple meal for a patient or a new mattress.”

The head shave took place at Daniel James Hair and Beauty in Colwyn Bay and raised £289 in sponsorship.

“It wasn’t until I got into my friend’s car to go to have my head shaved, that I started getting nervous.

“My best friend Jay got me ready in the chair and then told me that I would be doing the first shave with the clippers and then he would do the rest.

“Having the clippers in my hands was terrifying. I was surprised I did it so straight and didn’t end up with a wavy line from shaking so much!

“I am really happy I’ve done it. It’s just a weird feeling, but a good one too. Showers don’t take as long now either! “
