St David’s Hospice is appealing for local people to give up a morning or afternoon of their week to the good cause. Volunteers are required in the Reuse Shop at the Mochdre Recycling centre on Bron-y-Nant Road.
The store, which was opened in May last year, is packed with pre-loved items awaiting a new home. The St David’s Hospice Reuse Shop is a great way to care for the environment at the same time as caring for local adult patients with advanced illnesses or those in need of end of life care, and their families.
Hospice Administrator, Janet Magill said:
“The staff on site spot and rescue saleable goods before they are placed into the recycling skips. They are then displayed in the reuse shop. It is full of treasures waiting to be discovered. We would love to hear from people who would like to volunteer for St David’s. Help is needed to greet the customers and process the purchases”
The Reuse Shop is open seven days a week, 9am – 5pm and is open to the general public to browse and purchase items.
