MW Sports, a local multi-sports club have had a fun packed summer holiday and to celebrate the end of the six weeks, held a fundraising day for St David’s Hospice.
Based in Llandudno, the summer camp for children between 5 and 11years old, ran Monday to Friday throughout the summer holidays at Ty Hapus Community Centre.
Through online donations and a bucket collection at the end-of-summer party the group raised £760.
Marc Williams, owner of MW Sports said:
“Everyone at MW Sports wanted to fundraise for all the amazing work done at St Davids Hospice. From the coaches, to the parents, to the children, we are all very grateful for the work St David’s do and certainly for our loved ones; receiving high quality, specialist palliative care with life limiting illnesses. So this summer we wanted to say thank you!”
St David’s Hospice is a local charity, caring for local people offering 24-hour care, 365 days a year. Caring for adults, it provides a clinical service alongside emotional, physical and spiritual support costing over £5 million each year to run. The majority of this comes from community fundraising such as the MW Sports fundraising event. None of these costs are passed to the patients, their families or carers, because St David’s Hospice care is free to all.

“What a fantastic way to celebrate the summer holiday, full of fun and games! It is lovely to see a local club getting behind their local Hospice whilst really enjoying themselves. Thank you and well done to Marc, the children and all involved at MW Sports.”
