Are you brave enough to abseil down a vertical rock face for charity?
Take on an exciting 120ft abseil down the cliff at Holyhead’s Breakwater Park to raise funds for St David’s Hospice. Run by an experienced team of abseiling instructors, you’ll be looked after every step of the way as you lower yourself down – taking in the breath-taking views across Anglesey.
Back by popular demand, The Anglesey Abseil event is returning for the second year on Saturday 10th September and St David’s Hospice is on the lookout for daredevils who would like to take on an adrenaline-fueled challenge to raise funds for local hospice care!
At the top, you will be rewarded with stunning views of the Anglesey coast and the park which is situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Gwynedd and Anglesey Area Fundraiser Keri McKie, said:
“Last year the event was fully booked, over 100 supporters bravely conquered the Abseil challenge, raising an outstanding £22,000 for St David’s.
“Working in partnership with local company Anelu Aim Higher, the abseil is a safe and fun activity. No previous abseil experience is needed in order to take part.
“This event is perfect for individuals looking to take on a challenge or groups of friends/colleagues searching for a team social. It’s a fantastic location allowing for friends and family to come along and spectate, make the most of what the park has to offer.”
Staff from Adra Social Housing ‘Abseilwyr Adra Abseilers!’ participated in 2021 raising almost £1500.
They thoroughly enjoyed the event with Aled P Davies, Head of Governance at Adra saying,
“Taking part in the abseil event with colleagues was a great team building experience, there’s nothing like stepping off a cliff to help you put faith and trust in your colleagues to bring you down safely! Was a fantastic experience from start to finish, and a great feeling to have raised so much money for a very worthy cause. We would highly recommend St David Hospice events for organisations wishing to raise money for a good cause and undertake some team building activity whilst you’re at it.”
The event is being organised to raise funds for St David’s Hospice, a local charity providing end-of-life care free of charge to the people of North West Wales.
All entrants for the abseil must be over the age of 14 on the day to take part and all participants are required to complete a medical disclosure form prior to taking part.
