Veterans rally together to support charities in challenging times.

Welsh charity Woody’s Lodge has challenged all their veterans, supporters, family, and friends to walk 100 miles in the month of May.

The budding fundraisers have rised to the challenge, laced up their trainers and are half way through their 31 day fundraising challenge with monies raised to be divided amongst three charities, St David’s Hospice, North West Wales and Ty Hafan children’s hospice in South Wales challenge and Woody’s Lodge.

Woody’s Lodge provides inviting meeting space for veterans of the Armed Forces, Emergency Services and reservists to re-engage with life, their families and their communities.

Communications and Fundraising Manager at Woody’s Lodge, Nick Sternberg said:

“Both of the partnered charities lead the way in supporting families through challenging times and have supported many veterans and their families over the years.

“We challenged everyone to do what they can and cover 100 miles however they like – walk, run, march or even yomp! If broken down over the 31 days of May it works out to be just over 3 miles a day or 6,400 steps.”

“Like Captain Tom Moore official, Woody’s Lodge is looking to tackle 100!”
