Soon to be Husband and Wife, David Coe and Laura Shimmin will be getting married on the 23rd October in a long awaited ceremony in front of friends and family.
( Laura and David)
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, their wedding has been postponed many times, however with all restrictions lifted, they are pleased that everything is in place to go ahead with the big day at the end of the month.
David explained that their friends and family had asked for gift suggestions. However, although the coupled highlighted that the presence of their guests on the day is more than enough, they ask that their wedding guests consider making a donation to St David’s Hospice in lieu of wedding gifts.
David further explained their reason behind supporting the charity:
David: “We decided to support St David’s Hospice as my Grandfather passed away there recently and we wanted to show our appreciation for the care that was given to him.
‘’This is the third date set for their wedding in the last 18 months and upsettingly the reason why we wanted to raise funds for the Hospice is that we have lost family members close to us since the first date. They should have been there for our special day and in some way want to remember them there so they are still a part of it.’’
“The Hospice in Llandudno has recently played an important role in our lives, caring for someone very close to our hearts in his final few days with us.
“As for me and Laura we do not need for anything and felt creating a Wedding List or similar would not add anything to our wedding day.
“Being able to in some small way, contribute to the work that St David’s Hospice do and say thank you will make our wedding day better.
“We hope that it will mean the Hospice can continue to provide support to families in Llandudno as they need it.
Conwy Area Fundraiser James thanked the couple for involving St David’s in their day:
‘’On behalf of the Hospice we would like to wish good luck to the happy couple ahead of their big day on the 23rd October. Without the support from Community Fundraisers such as David and Laura, the Hospice would not be able to provide services free of charge to the people in need in Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey.’’
