Bank staff have signed up to ride the fastest zip wire in the world to raise vital funds for a charity that provides vital end of life care to people across North West Wales.
Jonathan Thomas Barclaycard Manager and Mark Powell, Retired Barclays Bank Manager decided to take on the charity fundraising challenge after the Barclays North and Mid Wales Welfare and Luncheon Club chose St David’s Hospice as one of the Chairman Charities for 2019.
St David’s Hospice is a local charity providing hospice care to adult patients living with advanced illnesses and those in need of end of life care in Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey.
On September 20th, they will take to the skies above over Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda at speeds of over 100mph. The truly unique and exhilarating experience will be a first for both Mark and Jonathan and nerves are already setting in!
Mark, Chairman Barclays North and Mid Wales Welfare and Luncheon Club said:
“We are both absolutely petrified. We both have a fear of heights so doing this challenge is way out of our comfort zone.
“Jonathan and I hope that whatever amount raised helps St David’s Hospice continue its great work for both the patients and their families.”
